Welsh Ryder Cup Event Winners!

Welcome to Wales Concert

Push4/greenfield was commissioned to project direct the hugely successful Welcome to Wales spectacular at the Millennium Stadium to launch the Ryder Cup, featuring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Dame Shirley Bassey and a host of stars entertaining HRH The Prince of Wales and an audience of 13,000 people, with millions watching globally.  Winning Ryder Cup Captain Ian Woosnam claimed it was the best event he had seen in 27 years of the Ryder Cup, and current captain Colin Montgomerie described it as a: “fabulous occasion”.

We were also hired to create and produce two gala evenings for the many visiting dignitaries for the event, working with Welsh National Opera on an opera themed dinner at the Wales Millennium Centre hosted by Deputy First Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones where attendees included the President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso.  A prestigious guest list including heads of the PGA also gathered for the First Minister’s Dinner in the grounds of Cardiff Castle, where home grown entertainment Only Men Aloud and Only Boys Aloud received a rapturous ovation.

Push4/greenfield was also up close to the players over the week, with a commission to film all aspects of the event, from practice sessions and hospitality to the match itself.

Chief Executive Wyn Innes said: “It’s been fantastic as a newly established Welsh company to be involved in so many areas of the Ryder Cup, and to play a small part in one of the most successful events this country has staged.  These were world class events produced by world class Welsh companies, and it shows what we are capable of here.”
