Push4 has brought video games to life in Cardiff this week, staging the US spectacular Video Games Live at the Cardiff International Arena with a 27 piece Welsh orchestra and 16 strong choir to bring joy to video gamers of all ages from across the country.
Cardiff was one of only three UK dates on a 60 plus world tour in a show that features live music adding impact to the world's most famous video games, such as Sonic the Hedgehog and World of Warcraft on multi screens with a major light show, film messages from the industry's adored gurus, real life characters, and audience participation, including an impressive best ever score on Guitar Hero.
VGL is the brainchild of renowned video game composers Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall, and it has played to over half a million people since its debut at the Hollywood Bowl in 2005. Tallarico has said: "Our goal and dream of successfully showcasing the video game industry and video game music to the masses has really taken off. The concert shows how culturally significant video games and video game music is in the world today."
