Merger creates big welsh communications group

22nd June, 2010

A merger of two of the leading names in events and integrated marketing communications in Wales - the Push4 Group and greenfield media - is creating a £3.5m plus organisation that will offer a unique and comprehensive range of creative communications services to Wales and the world.

Push4 and greenfield are Welsh-based award-winning success stories that over the past decade have been providing events and marketing services to the Welsh public sector and business community, as well as blue chip companies throughout the UK and in international markets. Both companies have a similar turnover, size and structure, offering different, yet highly complementary services. The new company will cover everything from event management to TV production, from music promotion and audio visual to design, PR and mobile marketing.

Wyn Innes set up greenfield five years ago, and will head up the new outfit as chief executive. Wyn said: "As stand alone companies we’ve already used our combined skills successfully and effectively on a number of projects. Both companies are in good shape and have evolved well in a short space of time, with excellent reputations in our own areas of expertise, but we feel that collectively we can offer more than the sum of our parts. By merging we can create the critical mass to become a significant player in Wales that offers a unique mix of integrated services, with an ability to compete in international markets."

greenfield boasts a client portfolio that includes S4C, Principality Building Society, SWALEC, Western Power Distribution and Guinness World Records. They specialise in audio visual production, creative, design, branding, business consultancy, media planning and buying, radio, online and print production, and the exciting growth areas of mobile and viral marketing.

The Push4 Group was established seven years ago, since when it has built a strong reputation for creating and running events of all sizes, from music festivals, as Wales’ largest independent music promoter, to international tours for the world famous Sadler’s Wells, international food exhibitions for the Welsh Assembly Government to corporate events for the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, Corus and confused.com.

Push4 was behind the Tsunami Relief concert at the Millennium Stadium in 2005, and this summer alone will stage JLS, Will Young and Al Green in Wales, in addition to managing the ‘Welcome to Wales’ global event in the Stadium to mark the start of the Ryder Cup. The group also boasts a fully equipped audio visual arm, public relations, and new media.

Current Push4 Group managing director Matthew Wordley will direct operations for the new business. He said: "Push4 and greenfield share a similar ideology and ambition, and wish to see Wales well served by an events and communications company that has the size, skills and resources to offer the best in their field, and as a proud Welsh company to export our services internationally."

In the course of the next few months the new business will be establishing a group brand and moving the combined current team of 25 into a central work space in the Cardiff area. It will be very much business as usual, with a raft of work already on the books, for both private and sector clients alike.
